Vinyl plank flooring is engineered for durability. It's not the sheet vinyl from decades ago. Today’s product is a rigid, multi-layered plank. The most important part is the top wear layer. This clear coating is what resists scratches, stains, and scuffs from furniture, pets, and daily traffic. We recommend a thicker wear layer for busy households. Beneath that is the printed design layer, which realistically mimics wood or stone.
The core is what gives the plank its stability and waterproof quality. You'll find two main types: WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) and SPC (Stone Plastic Composite). SPC is denser and more rigid, making it extremely resistant to dents from heavy furniture or dropped objects. Both are 100% waterproof, so you never have to worry about spills or moisture from the subfloor causing damage. This is why it’s a superior choice for basements and bathrooms compared to laminate or hardwood.
Vinyl plank is one of the most versatile floors you can install. Its waterproof nature makes it the go-to solution for any area prone to moisture. We install it frequently in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and mudrooms. Because of its toughness and scratch resistance, it’s also ideal for high-traffic zones like hallways, living rooms, and kids' play areas. It can handle pets, toys, and constant foot traffic without showing wear and tear. It’s a single flooring solution you can run throughout your entire home for a clean, cohesive look.
A good floor is only as good as its installation. We focus on getting the fundamentals right. The process starts with ensuring your subfloor is clean, level, and dry. A poorly prepared subfloor is the number one cause of flooring failure. Most vinyl planks install as a 'floating floor' using a click-lock system. The planks lock together tightly, creating a seamless surface that isn't glued or nailed to the subfloor. This method is efficient and minimizes disruption in your home. We do the job correctly so your new floor performs as it should for years. Contact us at (647) 898-7839 for a direct quote.
