When you're redoing stairs, the material choice is critical. You need something that can handle constant use. We don't mess with flimsy options.
Solid Hardwood: This is the classic choice for a reason. Oak, maple, and hickory are tough. They resist dents and scratches well. A hardwood staircase is a permanent upgrade to your home, adding real value. It can be refinished down the road if needed, but a quality installation will last for decades.
Luxury Vinyl: For a seriously durable and water-resistant option, vinyl is a practical choice, especially for homes with kids or pets. Modern vinyl planks look just like real wood but offer superior scratch resistance and are simple to clean. We use high-quality vinyl with a thick wear layer to ensure it holds up on high-traffic stairs.
Laminate: Laminate is a budget-friendly option that's also very durable. The key is choosing a product with a high AC (Abrasion Class) rating, suitable for heavy traffic. We only install laminate that's thick enough and designed for stair use to prevent chipping on the stair nose.
We keep things simple. First, we come out to measure and assess the current state of your staircase. We check the underlying structure—the stringers—to make sure everything is solid. You'll get a clear, itemized quote with no surprises.
The job starts with removing the old flooring, whether it's carpet, staples, or old runners. We prepare the surface properly, making any necessary repairs to the treads and risers. Then, we install your new material, paying close attention to fit and finish, especially the stair nosing, which takes the most impact. The result is a safe, quiet, and solid staircase. "The team from Delight flooring were amazing!!. They removed our staircase and upstairs carpet and did a fantastic job of installing our new hardwood as well as cleaning up and disposing of our old carpets. The job was completed extremely quickly and everything exceeded our expectations. I can't recommend them highly enough"
HomeOwner • 3 Aug 2014 • HomeStars"Rudy and his assistant, Mo, worked very hard to complete our stair project on time and on budget. They did not complain or come back to us with updated quotes or other issues. We are very pleased with the final result and have received many compliments on our new staircase. To add a touch of class, we offered them water from our garage fridge and to our surprise, they replaced the water they used at the end of the week. It was a very nice (but unnecessary) thing to do. Our only issue in the end was that some of the nails were still visible on the quarter round used to finish the trim work and there were a few blemishes on the stairs we had to touch up. These were very minor and ultimately, we couldn't be happier with the completed project. We would definitely recommend Rudy and his Team."
