The beauty of a new stair runner lies entirely in the quality of its installation. It’s a job where precision is not just a goal, but a necessity. Our process begins with a careful consultation in your Bobcaygeon home. We measure every tread and riser, noting any variations, to plan for a perfectly centered and straight layout. We discuss your vision, the type of carpet you've chosen, and how its pattern and thickness will influence the final look.
Proper preparation is the foundation of a flawless finish. Before we lay any material, we ensure your staircase is completely clean and smooth. We then install a high-quality, dense underpad, custom-cut for each step. This not only adds comfort and reduces noise but also protects your runner from premature wear by cushioning it against the hard stair surface. Every detail, from the placement of the underpad to the initial chalk lines, is checked and double-checked.
There are two primary methods for installing a runner, and choosing the right one is crucial. The 'waterfall' method allows the carpet to flow gracefully from the back of the tread directly over the edge to the next step. It’s a classic, clean look. The 'Hollywood' or 'upholstered' method involves wrapping the carpet tightly around the nose of each tread, securing it under the lip. This provides a very tailored, custom appearance that highlights the shape of each step.
We will advise you on the best method based on your carpet's thickness, flexibility, and pattern. A stiff carpet, for example, is often better suited to a waterfall installation. Our expertise ensures the method chosen will result in a clean, professional finish that lasts for years. We use specialized tools to ensure the runner is taut, secure, and perfectly aligned from top to bottom, with no visible fasteners. Your satisfaction is in the details, and that's where we focus our work.

"Rudy and his assistant, Mo, worked very hard to complete our stair project on time and on budget. They did not complain or come back to us with updated quotes or other issues. We are very pleased with the final result and have received many compliments on our new staircase. To add a touch of class, we offered them water from our garage fridge and to our surprise, they replaced the water they used at the end of the week. It was a very nice (but unnecessary) thing to do. Our only issue in the end was that some of the nails were still visible on the quarter round used to finish the trim work and there were a few blemishes on the stairs we had to touch up. These were very minor and ultimately, we couldn't be happier with the completed project. We would definitely recommend Rudy and his Team."

We had a quote within 30 mins, and were given lots of options on what type of hardwood/laminate we should install. They were on time, great at communicating, and used to dealing with condo's (a bonus for those with strict riles to adhere to). I would 100% recommend Delight Flooring to anyone as they did an amazing job!"

We initially called several flooring companies and they did not know what to do with our box stairs, which just had carpet removed. Rudy was the first and only installer who gave details and options for the stairs, and provided valued recommendations. On top of that, he stained the hardwood oak stairs perfectly to match the honey oak colored laminate. We highly recommend his services!"
