A new hardwood floor is a big investment. You don't want it squeaking, shifting, or gapping a year after it's installed. That's why we focus on doing the job right from the ground up. Our process isn’t a secret; it’s just solid, professional work that pays attention to the details that matter. We start where it counts the most: your subfloor. We inspect it thoroughly to make sure it's clean, structurally sound, flat, and dry. If we find low spots, we level them. If there's excess moisture, we address it. Fixing a subfloor issue now prevents a massive, expensive headache down the road. This is the most important step, and we never rush it.
We'll help you pick a floor that makes sense for your house and your life. Solid hardwood is the traditional choice, a single piece of wood that can be sanded and refinished many times. It's a fantastic, long-term option for most rooms. Engineered hardwood is made of layers, with a real wood veneer on top. This construction makes it more stable, so it's often a better choice for areas with potential moisture changes, like finished basements or homes on slab foundations. We don't push one over the other. We explain the real-world pros and cons based on where the floor is going. The goal is a material that performs well in our local climate for decades, not just one that looks good for a season.
Once your subfloor is properly prepped and the wood has had time to acclimate to your home's humidity level, we begin the installation. We use professional-grade fastening tools to ensure every board is straight and tight, minimizing gaps from day one. We meticulously plan the layout for strength and appearance. A critical step is leaving the correct expansion gap around the perimeter of the room. Wood expands and contracts with the seasons, and this space, hidden by your baseboards, is vital to prevent buckling. We are clean, efficient, and we respect your home. When the job is done, it's truly done. All trim is reinstalled, transitions are in place, and the area is cleaned. You're left with nothing but a durable, properly installed floor. "Very fast efficient and cost effective company. I recommend them highly for flooring needs. Laminate in my case. Excellent communications, best ever: from their project manager to their operating team, we were exchanging messages frequently at 9 or 10 PM on a week end. If you hire them make sure to ask them to cover your walls: as they work fast you have to expect your walls to be dirty . My white walls showed signs of jeans and clothes passing through. Not a big deal to clean but still had to do it ."
Yann • 4 Jan 2016 • HomeStars"Just like everyone out there trying to upgrade their home, we decided to update the living room flooring from old dirty carpet to nice low maintenance Laminate. Thinking we could do it ourselves as DIY folks. Well like all great projects, we failed to estimate the cost of the tools to do the project and our lack of expertise. In desperation, after installing the underlay, we realized we could not do the job. I was extremely luck in finding Rudy from Delightflooring. He was able to response to my email within 30 minutes and was available to start the next day on installation of our living room floor. His service is exceptional and perhaps one of the best floor installers in Canada. He worked without breaks and hard installing the floor. It came out extremely beautiful. He brought amazing tools to do the job and did the job without error on first time cuts. He tackled difficult corners and was able to make the installation seamless. Would I recommend this installer to anyone. YES YES YES. He deserves an award for being the most conscious, clean and precise installer in the construction business. We need more like him with this kind of skill and customer service."
