Baseboards aren't just for looks. They are a functional part of your flooring system, protecting the bottom of your drywall from damage. A proper installation hides the necessary expansion gap left for laminate or hardwood, giving your room a finished, clean appearance. We install baseboards that are straight, secure, and built to handle daily life in your home. It’s a small detail that makes a big difference in the durability and look of your space.Baseboard Installation

Our Installation Process

Getting baseboards installed correctly is about precision. First, we take accurate measurements of your rooms. We use a mitre saw for clean, exact cuts, ensuring every corner joint is tight and seamless. We don't just glue trim to the wall; we fasten it securely to the studs for long-term stability. This prevents the baseboards from pulling away from the wall as the house settles.

Once the trim is installed, the job isn't done. We fill all nail holes and caulk the top edge where the baseboard meets the wall. This hides any small imperfections in the drywall and creates a smooth, paint-ready surface. The result is a solid, continuous line around your room with no unsightly gaps.

Material Choices: MDF vs. Wood

You have a couple of solid choices for materials. Medium-Density Fibreboard (MDF) is the most common. It's affordable, durable, and comes pre-primed, making it easy to paint. Because it's a composite material, it's very straight and won't warp. For most indoor applications, it's the practical choice.

Solid wood, like pine or oak, is another option. It's ideal if you want a stained finish to match your hardwood floors. Wood is tougher against direct impact but can be more susceptible to humidity changes. We can discuss which material makes the most sense for your home and budget.

Why Professional Installation Matters

A poor baseboard installation is easy to spot. You'll see gaps in the corners, uneven lines, and sloppy caulking. Doing it right requires the right tools and experience. We make sure corners meet perfectly, scarf joints on long walls are nearly invisible, and the entire installation is level and secure. This isn't just about appearance; it's about making sure the trim does its job of protecting your walls for years to come. Call us at (647) 898-7839 to get it done right.

"Great experience, workers were reliable, constant open communication regarding progress of the jobs. Fair market pricing I always get multiple quotes for projects so I know the pricing was competitive. Pleasant to work with and accommodating. Quick to return calls and e-mails. Will have Rudy back to install another job later this year in 2014."

"My project was a little over 1000 sq ft of hardwood flooring, 350 ft of baseboard trim, 350 feet of door stop and 10 sq ft of tile in front of a fireplace. Upon completion, the rooms looked fabulous for 2 reasons. One was the natural warmth and elegance of wood flooring and secondly, the workmanship of Rudy and his crew. The quality and professionalism of the job was no more evident then where the tile and wood met. The tile was raised to the level of the wood thickness and the 2 met each other at an odd angle. The transition between the 2 surfaces was seamless and flawless and no transition pieces were required to hide any shortcomings. I was most impressed with this part of the job as only an experienced professional would do such a perfect job. In addition, Rudy and his crew were very courteous and cleaned up the mess after each days work. Even though I invited them to bring their saws and cutters indoors because it was cold, they insisted on doing this part of the job outdoor to minimise the mess in my home. I would definitely recommend Rudy and his crew to anyone seeking to have their flooring done. He is reasonably priced and offers quality work in exchange. Thanks Rudy and crew. Great Job."
