Your baseboards take a beating. They get hit by vacuums, furniture, and shuffling feet. A DIY or handyman job might look okay from a distance, but it won't hold up. The difference is in the technique and the tools. We use professional miter saws for perfectly angled cuts, ensuring every corner, whether it's a standard 90-degree or a tricky custom angle, fits together seamlessly. We also know how to properly cope inside corners, a technique that creates a much tighter and more durable joint than a simple miter cut. This prevents the joint from opening up as the house settles and shifts.
We secure the trim correctly by nailing into the wall studs, not just the drywall. This provides a solid anchor so your baseboards won't come loose or warp. We use the right length of finish nail and set them just below the surface to be filled later. This attention to detail ensures your trim looks like it's part of the wall, not just stuck on as an afterthought.
Choosing the right material is key. MDF (Medium-Density Fiberboard) is a popular, cost-effective choice that comes pre-primed and provides a very smooth surface for painting. For homes with a more traditional feel or for areas with potential moisture, solid wood like pine or oak offers classic looks and better durability against water. We can help you decide what's best for your space and budget.
The final step is what separates a good job from a great one. Every nail hole is filled and sanded smooth. The top gap between the baseboard and the wall is caulked with a flexible, paintable sealant for a clean, continuous line. This stops drafts and gives the installation a professional, built-in appearance. We leave the trim ready for paint. We handle the whole job, you get the results. "Rudy and his assistant, Mo, worked very hard to complete our stair project on time and on budget. They did not complain or come back to us with updated quotes or other issues. We are very pleased with the final result and have received many compliments on our new staircase. To add a touch of class, we offered them water from our garage fridge and to our surprise, they replaced the water they used at the end of the week. It was a very nice (but unnecessary) thing to do. Our only issue in the end was that some of the nails were still visible on the quarter round used to finish the trim work and there were a few blemishes on the stairs we had to touch up. These were very minor and ultimately, we couldn't be happier with the completed project. We would definitely recommend Rudy and his Team."
